I was lucky enough to train at GRH when Miss Storr was Head of the school of Nursing.One day I encountered Miss Storr in the corridor, she addressed me by name and with concern as she thought I looked tired, so very thoughtful and so typical.

A true Nightingale nurse who went on to become Director of Nursing. She set the standards high that would carry many of us through years of nursing. Thank you Miss Storr.

I was very sorry to learn the of death of Miss F Storr. A true Nurse and excellent Nurse tutor , who became Director of Nurse Education when I started my Nurse training at Gloucester Royal . I was also her Practice Nurse in later life, sometime ago at London Road Surgery. She always kept herself updated on Nurse training even when she had retired we had very constructive conversations about how nursing was changing , and the role of nursing . She was a forthright, genuine , Christian person, with a great sense of humour, who always had time for you. May she Rest in Peace .

Miss Storr trained at St Thomas' Hospital , London she was a proud Nightingale. She will be remembered by many staff of different disciplines at Gloucestershire NHS Trust. Following her retirement from nurse education , Miss Storr was a member of the Trust board and a member of the chaplaincy staff visiting patients to chat or pray.
She trained at St Thomas ’ and was a proud Nightingale, she was a midwife and nurse tutor. She taught on basic and post basic nursing courses. Her specialist subject on the basic training course was “ the nervous system”. She was “old school” but not resistant to change, an advocate for Project 2000. When Director of Nurse Education
she supported staff in undertaking Bachelors’ and Masters degrees. She was a member of the Royal College of Nursing history society.
She was an active member of the Church of England and a keen supporter of Women bishops. She was a member of Gloucestershire Wildlife, she rarely missed the Cheltenham Literary Festival. Her many interests included photography, art , walking in the Yorkshire Dales and driving, having passed the Advanced Driving Test. Originally from Leicestershire she was delighted when Leicester City Football Club won the Premier League in 2015-16.
